Segway Polo is a new and innovative way of playing a traditional game. The replacement of a horse with a Segway gives a bit more control over where you are heading when chasing the ball and a shorter distance to fall when mishaps or crashes happen. Segway polo is played by Segway enthusiasts all over the world, using both the Gen-1 Segways and the Gen-2 Segways. Some players even opt to use street tires instead of the off-road model tires, giving the Segway a bit more speed, though the off road model tends to have more stability.

Segway Polo is played on turf and natural grass fields all over the world. The Woz Cup annual championship tournament, has taken place in Golden Gate Park - San Francisco, Auckland - New Zealand, Indiana - Indianapolis, and Cologne - Germany. Next years tournament is tentatively to be held in Barbados, where the most recent champions, The Barbados Flyin' Fish, will host the tournament.

So, how do you get in on this action?
Now you too can play Segway polo, even if you don't own a Segway!! Play Segway Polo at Estuary Park in Jack London Square next to the Oakland/Alameda Estuary! We teach you the basics and then you can play in 5 on 5 matches for up to three hours.
The Segway has the same movement as skiing, but it's a lot easier. It follows your motion, there are no accelerator or brakes and it goes where you go. Lean forward, it goes forward. Lean back and it goes back. As you get going faster you ungulate and lean into turns just like you would on a a pair of skis.
Estuary Park
and the Oakland waterfront in Jack London Square has tons of pathways where you
get to ride full speed. It's a great place to learn to ride and it's safer than
other alternatives. There are even some Bar-B-Ques available next to the field
so you can make it a day event.
Segway Polo
is a ton of fun and this is the perfect chance to give it a try. We can
accommodate 20 or even 30 people if you want to rotate or you can play with as
little as 8 people.
Start with
an introduction and the basics. You get to ride over VARIED terrain types and as
you get into the motion of the Segway, you can start to try out your skills at
polo. Segway polo takes a little practice, but riding the Segways and playing is
fun no matter your experience level.
Segway Polo is Great for any Company event in the Bay Area. Estuary Park is
centrally located and easy to get to, located close to Jack London Square and
several Marina's on the waterfront. Explore the Oakland Waterfront on the most
recent models of Segways. We have both the X2 wide tire model as well as the i2
narrow tire model.
